Phyllis & Bruce Middleton wish to thank Jim and Irene Whyte, Angela, Carla, Colin and Jason Banks along with Blackburn dancers for helping at an Old Time CD Dance held at Kinellar Community Hall on Sat 18th June from 7.30-11.30. Over £1000.00 was raised for Club funds. This was a unique dance as the prizes for the number board were made by 3 dancing wood turners Jim Whyte, Ron Doughty and John Wilkin (see photo) .
Many thanks to 3 committee members Jim Downie, Kenny Thom and Pat Brand who each sponsored an hour’s hire of the hall but the biggest thanks go to all the 150 Old Time Dancers from Blackburn, Newmachar, Insch, Ellon, Bridge of Don & Longhaven. The music was arranged by Stuart Hay and played from an i-pod by Logan Hadden who also acted as MC for the evening. There was even time for Martha Harris to walk us through a new dance called the Craven Twelvesome.
A copy of the programme is attached for those enthusiastic bowlers wishing to take up dancing. There are plenty classes in the area who can cater for all abilities.
